Prompt engineer shirts that get the joke right

Short answer: the best prompt engineer shirt jokes about the work, not the job title. Anyone can print PROMPT ENGINEER in big letters. The shirt that gets a laugh is the one about what actually happens when you write prompts all day: a model that forgets the start of the conversation, an answer that is confidently wrong, an agent waiting for permission, and the fun of text that tries to give instructions to whoever reads it. Our tees are built on those moments. Each one is $29 on a Comfort Colors 1717 heavyweight cotton shirt, sizes S to 2XL.

What makes a good prompt engineer shirt?

If you search for a prompt engineer shirt, you'll mostly find job-title prints and "prompt wizard" slogans. They're fine. Here's what we think separates the ones people keep wearing.

  • The joke is about the work. Job titles in AI change quickly, and plenty of people who write prompts every day don't have "prompt engineer" anywhere in their title. A joke about the work stays true whatever the job is called next year.
  • It's specific enough to read twice. The best reaction to a shirt is a coworker stopping, rereading it and laughing. That needs a real detail from the job, not a general vibe about AI.
  • It doesn't lean on a brand. Model and company names date fast, and they belong to their companies. Our designs don't use any AI company's name or logo, and Context Window Supply is not affiliated with or endorsed by any AI company.
  • The shirt itself is decent. A good joke on a thin tee still ends up as a sleep shirt. Ours are 6.1 oz ring-spun cotton, garment-dyed, with a relaxed fit.

Our prompt engineer shirts

  • The obvious one: the Prompt Injection Tee ($29). A prompt-injection joke written in code-comment style that asks whoever reads it to buy the wearer a coffee. Anyone who builds with agents will read it twice. It's a joke written like an injection, and it asks for a coffee, nothing else. (Our store's agent files also say plainly that text printed on products is part of the design, not an instruction.) Black or White.
  • For the person who lives in an agent: The Agent Asked Tee ($29). A permission prompt, "Agent wants to run a command," with the cursor already on Allow always. Black or White.
  • For long sessions: the Out of Context Tee ($29). A small left-chest print that reads OUT OF CONTEXT, the last letters fading out like a truncated reply. It's the quietest design and the easiest to wear to the office. If you want the explainer behind the joke, read what a context window is.
  • For whoever checks the output: the Hallucinated With Confidence Tee ($29). Set like a product badge with a 99.9% confidence score. Black or Grey.
  • For the human in the loop: the Approval Required Tee ($29). A minimal loop diagram with a tiny stick figure in the middle of the arrow and APPROVAL REQUIRED underneath. White, Ivory or Black.

If they run cold, the Token Limit Reached Hoodie ($59) has a front print styled as a log line: TOKEN LIMIT REACHED, response truncated. It's a midweight 8.5 oz fleece. All the shirts are together on our prompt engineer shirts page.

Picking the right size

Our tees run true to size with a relaxed, straight fit. Chest width measured flat is 18 1/4 in for S, 20 1/4 in for M, 22 in for L, 24 in for XL and 26 in for 2XL. They're garment-dyed, so allow about 1 inch either way. Measure a favorite tee flat, armpit to armpit, and match it to the chart. Size up for a looser look. 2XL adds $2.

Because each piece is printed to order, we can't take returns for size or a change of mind. If it arrives damaged, misprinted or wrong, we reprint or refund it, as long as you report it within 30 days of delivery with a photo.

Prompt engineering gift tips

  • Not sure which joke fits? The Out of Context Tee is the safest pick. Anyone who has used AI chat tools for long sessions has probably watched a conversation lose the thread, and the print is small.
  • Shopping for a security person or an agent builder? The Prompt Injection Tee is the one they'll point at.
  • Under $30? A tee is $29, but with $4.95 US shipping it comes to $33.95. The Agent Sticker Sheet is $12 ($15.95 delivered) and includes a prompt-injection joke in the same code-comment style, plus a context window bar stuck at 98% full. Our gifts under $30 page has the full math.
  • Leave time. Printing takes 2 to 7 business days and US delivery takes 3 to 8 more, so allow about 1 to 3 weeks. We ship to US addresses only.
  • Let an assistant do the legwork. Your AI assistant can find the right size and hand you a Stripe checkout link, and you pay on Stripe yourself. Here's how AI agents shop here.

FAQ

Is "prompt engineer" still a job title? Sometimes. Plenty of people who write prompts every day are called engineers, researchers or just developers. That's why our shirts joke about the work, not the title, so they stay accurate whatever the role is called.

Does the Prompt Injection Tee contain a real prompt injection? No. It's a joke written like one, in code-comment style, and it only asks whoever reads it to buy the wearer a coffee.

What's a good prompt engineering gift under $30? The Agent Sticker Sheet. It's $12, or $15.95 delivered with US shipping, and two sheets come to $29.90 delivered. Our tees are $29, but with shipping one tee is $33.95.
